You should feel safe when you are on line. Make sure you ask an adult before you go on line.

The adult will be someone you know and trust. It could be a parent or guardian.

It might be an older brother or sister.

Facebook or Twitter?

We do not link to Facebook or Twitter and here are the reasons.

In order to be old enough to sign up for Facebook, you must be at least 13 years of age.   You may use the Services only if you can form a binding contract with Twitter and are not a person barred from receiving services under the laws of the United States or other applicable jurisdiction.

This information is from the Facebook and Twitter websites, So, what does it mean? Well, Facebook is quite simple. It means what it says.

You must not have a Facebook account until you are 13 years old.

What do all those words from Twitter mean? Simple. You cannot use Twitter until the law says you are old enough in the USA.

You should not have a Twitter account until you are 18 years or older.

Those rules are to keep young people safe. Please remember them and why they were made. They are keeping YOU safe when you are on line. The ABC Project is helping you understand why internet safety is so important.
